World leader in Bluetooth solutions recognizes CIBER's capability in Bluetooth
Intellectual Property Bluetooth, the cutting edge technology that enables short-range wireless connectivity proposed by Bluetooth SIG provides the perfect ground for CIBER. Linux has already been accepted by the world as a platform of choice, and leveraging on this, we at CIBER envisaged building our IPR on Open Specification of Bluetooth (version 1.1). The Challenge Start-up is analogous to being on fire. Very limited resource and enormous pressure to get quality implementation up at the shortest possible time frame are the rules of the game. The management challenge was to work against the odds and press for the first prototype in two months flat with only four-member team. The Technology Bluetooth is a cable replacement technology for communication using short-range radio links. Designed to operate in a noisy frequency environment, Bluetooth radio uses the fast acknowledgement and frequency-hopping scheme to make the link robust. The boon of the protocol is that it makes the legacy applications that run on TCP/IP or serial links wireless enabled readily. The Solution “Do it right the first time” was the mantra for the team and we rose up to the challenge with confidence. First burst of data (“Long live Bluetooth”) over Bluetooth RF signal was injected in CIBER’s lab in 6 weeks time from the start of the project. The team demonstrated wireless connectivity between two PCs running RedHat Linux. Presently we offer full-fledged host implementation of the protocol stack with a set of profiles for OEM’s. The Result World leader in Bluetooth solutions recognizes CIBER’s capability in Bluetooth and awards the project to port its stack onto Linux platform.
